Dating over 50Dating over 50 is a very current topic today. It used to be different. By now there are so many dating platforms that deal with this topic. Why is it so hard to still find a partner later in life? I think it's because most people at this age are already in a steady relationship, and many people at this age have particularly high expectations of their partner, since most are looking for something lasting.

For single women, it is harder with age than for single men to find a partner. One reason is that women no longer feel quite as comfortable in their bodies as they age and always strive for youth. They have their best years behind them, as the saying goes.

With men it's a little different. They often become more attractive with age. Mature men are sexy. Take George Clooney, with his salt-and-pepper hair: even young women find him very attractive and wouldn't kick him out of bed. So more and more older men have younger women. The other way around is rather rare. Still, there's no reason to be sad; there are plenty of fish in the sea. The offerings for singles over 50 are on the rise. For example, parties for the 50+ crowd or certain dating platforms that help you in the search for the right partner are becoming more and more popular. That makes finding a partner easier. Even so, older single women still face the problem of younger competition, which of course makes the search harder. The fear that a potential life partner might prefer a younger woman is a feeling that only grows with age. On top of that, because of the experience they've gathered over a lifetime, their expectations of a relationship have naturally grown too. As a result, they are more selective and think longer term. But love is not a question of age; many people, women and men alike, value this personal maturity and wealth of experience, because it lets you meet each other as equals.
